U.S. futures are pointing higher, trying to snap its 2nd 3-day losing streak this month, though losses have not been deep as major averages remain less that 1% away from their all-time highs into key GDP data tomorrow and PCE inflation data on Friday (the Fed’s preferred measure of inflation). The Japanese yen touched its lowest level versus the dollar since 1990, fueling intervention bets, while inventory stockpiling weighs on oil. In Asian markets, The Nikkei Index jumped 364 points to 40,762, the Shanghai Index fell -1.25% or -38 points to move back under 3K and settle at 2,993, and the Hang Seng Index dropped -225 points to 16,392. In Europe, the German DAX is up 70 points to 18,454, while the FTSE 100 is down -23 points to 7,907. U.S. markets tumbled in the final hour of trading on Tuesday, erasing earlier gains led by a sell-off among the biggest names in tech and chips in a late day profit taking bout. A quiet day of earnings and economic data into tomorrow’s flood of data, while the news of the Baltimore bridge collapse yesterday after a shipping vessel crashed into it, continues to raise concerns about supply chain concerns for autos, food, clothing, etc.
